Vianna is a character in Pillars of Eternity. She can be found in the Abandoned House on the northern edge of Ondra's Gift, during Built to Last.
Background
A native of the Vailian Republics, Vianna studied animancy in Ozia before coming to Defiance Bay to research local advances. Instead of going to Brackenbury Sanitarium, she found a position as a scrivener at the Temple of Wael. As a result, she's had access to many rare manuscripts that most animancers never see. She's been careful not to let the head librarian - or colleagues - know what she was working on, namely research into a rare branch of animancy concerning itself with the Engwithan manufacture of animats. The art of fusing souls with ancient stone and metal is tricky, but Vianna managed to approximate it through painstaking research backed by Commander Clyver's commission.
The reason is simple: Modern animats, the Forge Knights, could help bridge the manpower gap caused by the recent recall of most Justiciars and Novitiates to Fleetbreaker Castle and ensure order in the streets. Naturally, the Dozens are not about to hand that advantage to the Knights and lay a trap for Vianna, luring her to Ondra's Gift under pretense of meeting an old friend from the Republics...
