Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire (Original Soundtrack) is the official soundtrack to Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. It was composed by Justin E. Bell and performed by The Budapest Art Orchestra (conducted by Peter Pejtsik), with additional tracks composed by Frölich Geschray, and traditional sea shanties by Nils Brown and Carrie Shaw.
The soundtrack is included in the Obsidian and Deluxe editions of the game[1] (located in the install directory), and can also be purchased or streamed separately on a number of online stores, including Amazon, CD Baby, GOG, and Spotify.

Two different versions are available:
- The standalone CD release, which was included physically as a backer reward during the Fig campaign, and available digitally in the game's install directory
- The streaming version, which is available on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. This version omits track 4, "Lie", and has a different arrangement of tracks, as well as minor track title changes, and slight differences in capitalization.

Sea shanties[ | ]
If the player's ship crew has a high morale ("Concerned" or above), sea shanties will be played while travelling by ship across the world map. These shanties are all based on real-world sea shanties, with the lyrics altered to add references to characters, locations and events within the game:
- "Aim'Spirente", based on "Santianna". It references the Aimo do Spirente and its captain, Estulario Parfitto.
- "Roll the Old Berath's Wheel", based on "Roll the Old Chariot Along"
- "The Faithful Sailor", based on "The Faithful Sailor Boy"
- "Heave Away my Lendry", based on "Heave Away My Johnny". It likely references the sailor Lendry in Ondra's Gift.
- "Haul Away and Go", based on "Haul Away Joe".
- "Deadfire Lines", based on "The Black Ball Line"
In addition, shanties are dynamic and take into account the gender ratio of male-to-female crew members. This changes how loud the male and female parts of the shanty are, as well as some of the lyrics themselves, which have a few words altered, particularly pronouns, based on whether the lead is being sung by a female or male vocalist. It also varies depending on the number of crew currently on your ship relative to the total amount of crew that your ship supports.
Note that all changes only apply to the subsequent track. So if you were to swap out your male crew with an all-female crew, you won't actually hear the difference until the next shanty plays.
