Rescue Tenfrith, before speaking to Pasca

Late for Dinner is a task in Pillars of Eternity.

Overview

  1. Find Tenfrith.
  2. Speak with Pasca at The Black Hound Inn.

Walkthrough

  1. Once you enter Gilded Vale head to the south-west corner and enter the inn, the Black Hound.
  2. Speak to Pasca at the bar and ask her about the food and offer to help her find the cook, Tenfrith.
  3. Go to Valewood and head north-east until you see an outlaw/bandit. Kill him and then head east.
  4. There you will find Tenfrith at a campfire among several outlaws and he will ask for you to save him, initiating combat.
  5. Kill the outlaws and Tenfrith will run back to the inn, follow him.
  6. Speak with Pasca and Tenfrith to finish the quest.

You can also get this task by rescuing Tenfrith before speaking with Pasca. This doesn't change the reward; just speak to Pasca the next time you're in the Black Hound.

ID End Description
0 Late for Dinner
10000 The Black Hound Inn in Gilded Vale has lost its beloved cook.
1 Find Tenfrith.
10001 Much like the rest of the town, Gilded Vale's inn has seen better days. It doesn't get much business, but the inn's master chef usually draws in a small but steady amount of visitors - that is, until his recent disappearance during a routine trip north for supplies. The innkeeper has suggested he might have come to harm on the road through the Valewood, and is seeking aid in seeing the chef safely returned.
2 Speak with the innkeeper at the Black Hound Inn.
10002 Tenfrith was very grateful for my assistance in freeing him from captivity in the bandit camp. He suggested I speak with the innkeeper at the Black Hound Inn in Gilded Vale, who is in a better position to reward me for my efforts.
30000 ? Tenfrith has been killed.
30001 ? I rescued the dwarf Tenfrith from the grip of hungry bandits. He was very grateful for my assistance, and suggested I stop by the Black Hound Inn in Gilded Vale for a reward.
30002 ? I told Pasca, the innkeeper at the Black Hound Inn, that Tenfrith fell to the bandits of the Valewood. She was distraught, and rather pessimistic about the inn's chances.
30003 Pasca, the innkeeper at the Black Hound Inn, was very grateful for my help in getting Tenfrith back safely. She's promised me a discount on both food and lodging in return for my assistance.
30004 ? I told Pasca, the innkeeper at the Black Hound Inn, that Tenfrith was killed during his journey through the Valewood. She was distraught to hear of it, and rather pessimistic as to the Black Hound Inn's chances for recovery.
30005 ? With Pasca dead, the Black Hound Inn has once again been left without an owner. Not much use for a cook now.
30006 ? I rescued the dwarf Tenfrith from the grip of hungry bandits. He said he's the cook at the Black Hound Inn. He'll have a nasty surprise waiting for him when he gets back.
30007 Someone critically important to this quest has died.
