Kapana Taga is a club in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.

Description

Items in italics are quoted directly from the game.

You pried this obsidian club from the dead hands of the captain of the fearsome Black Isle Bastards. How a band of loathsome pirates came about such an ancient weapon is unknown, though they were surely attracted to the weapon's gleaming blades of volcanic glass. Buccaneers are often drawn to shiny objects.

Long before the people of the Deadfire had access to advanced metalworking, weapons and tools were often made of obsidian - which can be knapped to razor sharpness. Many aumaua warriors wielded obsidian swords such as this. It is a deadly combination of blade and bludgeon and requires considerable strength to wield. If the markings etched into weapon are any indication, this sword was the personal weapon of a grand champion. The glyphs tell of glorious battles against numerous foes.

Behind the scenes

  • Upon game release, Kapana Taga was considered a sword (like its description suggested). This was changed with patch 1.02.0089 when most items were nerfed.
  • There's a bug that causes Kapana Taga to not be collected as part of the loot when defeating Fyrgist after boarding his ship. Sinking it or reloading a save before the encounter can get you the weapon.
