Commander Clyver is the commandant of the Crucible Keep, headquarters of the Knights of the Crucible, in Pillars of Eternity. He can be found in the war room of the Crucible Keep, which is in the First Fires district of Defiance Bay.

The present commander of the Crucible Knights in Defiance Bay is a powerful man preoccupied with maintaining peace and order in the streets of Defiance Bay. The recent influx of refugees due to the Waidwen's Legacy, Dozens agitation, and the irritant in the form of animancy make his job difficult. Regardless, he has absolute faith in his soldiers, whom he sees as the best and brightest the Dyrwood has to offer. Of course, with the recent decision by the High Justice to summon half of Clyver's novitiates and even more justiciars to Fleetbreaker Castle just on the other side of New Heomar, he doesn't exactly have a lot of Dyrwood's finest to work with, putting Defiance Bay just a short distance south of chaos.
Interestingly, while he thinks himself a progressive man, but his obsession with soul lineages and connections to the Dyrwood's heroes of old say otherwise.

- He has two quests for you to prove your worth:
- Built to Last, which allows you access to the keep's weapons and armor store (via Dunstan).
- Winds of Steel, which makes you officially considered an ally of the Crucible Knights, and allowed to:
- ...advise Commander Clyver on whether to continue the Forge Knights research (a choice which is reflected in the end-game slides).
- ...ask Commander Clyver for an invitation to the animancy hearings during The Hermit of Hadret House.
