Endless Paths of Od Nua Level 7

Endless Paths of Od Nua Level 7 is the seventh floor of the Endless Paths of Od Nua.

Background

The topmost level of the purely Engwithan parts of the Endless Paths, once sealed behind a massive vaulted door, level 7 houses the forge, where early and horrific experiments into Engwithan animancy took place. Though the bodies of their test subjects have long since rotted away, leaving behind their chained skeletons, the elemental generators remain in place and generate a variety of blights that stalk anyone foolish enough to enter.

Points of interest

Level 7 is where you will find Gabrannos and the tablet that Kana Rua has been searching for. It also contains four Blight Forges which are responsible for creating and controlling Blights. You'll need to shut down the forges and figure out what happened to Gabrannos. Although optional, finding all the prisms and placing them into the correct rooms, the greater blights will go away. As you're searching this floor you will encounter a number of Blights. Be forewarned: each flavor of Blight is immune / susceptible to different kinds of damage. Have a selection of melee weapons available, always check the popup or the Bestiary entry to figure out which kind to use, and don't bother firing missile weapons at things that are immune to Pierce.
Immediately as you enter the floor there are some Blights to fight off in front of you (to the south). On your left (east) is the Earth Forge. In order to disable a Forge you need the matching Prism, and since you don't have the Earth Prism yet, you can't do anything in here. Instead proceed to the intersection and turn right (west). You'll find the Fire Forge to the north and a small room to the west. Clear that room and pick up the Rain Prism and the Old Copper Key, which opens Gabrannos's lab.
Go back the way you came and continue east, but don't enter the large room ahead of you. That's the way out and there's a terrible fight that you don't want to take on right now. Instead turn right (south) and pass through the archway. Fight some more blights.
The small room to the west has the Fire Prism, but if you go a little further south and east you'll find the Rain Forge. Clear that room and place the Prism on the appropriate spot. There's some more Blights to fight off in the hallway.
In the southernmost part of the map you'll find (and Kana will point out in case you don't see it) the door to Gabrannos's lab. Since you have the key, go ahead and open it. Unfortunately, Gabrannos has been reduced to a simple Skeletal Wizard, which ought to be a piece of cake for a full party. Kill him and search the room. When you pick up the tablet, you'll finish out the quest with a sad conversation with Kana. You can also pick up the unique wand Elawen Ein and the Earth Prism.
Now go clear the Fire Forge and the Earth Forge. The room with the Earth Forge also has the Wind Prism; the Wind Forge is at the end of the hall past Gabrannos's lab.
Once you've disabled all the forges, rest up. The final battle on the floor involves an Adra Animat with enormous DR and a ton of Endurance. He's surrounded by some other Animats, some Adragan, and some Spectres. Between them they have the ability to Petrify and Dominate your characters, heal themselves, and cast a host of offensive spells to boot. You will need a lot of horsepower to get through this fight, and you probably will not kill the Adra Animant until the end unless you're lucky (or can break 25 DR). Unless you particularly like playing with a Chanter, you might want to swap Kana Rua out for another fighter. Good luck.
