A Watcher is an exceptionally gifted individual, capable of perceiving the souls of other people and interacting with them, both as a passive observer (thus the name) and as an active participant, affecting their essence.
Animancers studied folk legends about figures called Watchers who reportedly were able to see lost souls and perceive an individual's ancestral lives, but most claimants to that title were charlatans at best or mentally unstable and violent at worst.[1]
