Visions and Whispers is a main quest in Pillars of Eternity.

Synopsis[edit | edit source]

After surviving an explosion outside of the ruins of Cilant Lîs, the Watcher experienced a vision... Since then, they have been hearing sounds with no source, and seeing things that aren't there. Perhaps some rest and an animancer can help?

Walkthrough[edit | edit source]

  • This quest requires you to reach Gilded Vale and the Black Hound Inn. After resting in a room, you will be presented with a special scripted interaction. The hanged dwarven animancer is your next stop.
  • Return to the gallows tree near the ruined Temple of Eothas and speak with Caldara de Berranzi.

ID End Description
0 Visions and Whispers
10000 After surviving an explosion outside of the ruins of Cilant Lîs, I experienced a vision. Since then, I have been hearing sounds with no source, and seeing things that aren't there.
2 Seek help for your condition.
10002 This is not the illness that struck me at the wagon. This is something new - an affliction of the mind, perhaps. With luck, someone in Gilded Vale will know what to do.
20000 The magistrate advised me to get some rest while I wait for permanent accomodations. That may be the best thing to put an end to this illness as well.
1 Find the dwarf woman from the dream.
10001 In my dream, I heard a message from a woman - a dead woman, hanging from the tree that stands at the center of Gilded Vale. It may be nothing more than a dream, but there was a strange realism to it. I need to return there and see for myself whether there was anything to it. My condition has not lifted, and I am not sleeping well.
30000 I have a word, now, for what I have become: a Watcher. It seems that if I am to learn more about this affliction, I must seek out a man called Maerwald, in the old keep of Caed Nua.
