Sister to Weto, Tipa is adamant about upholding their Huana traditions and rejecting the aid of the Rauataians at Sayuka, after a series of storms wiped out their village and food supply. Tipa fears that accepting the aid - and the Rauataian way of life - will spell the end of Huana culture, caste divisions and all. She especially abhors the Rauataians forcing unity and equality among the Huana by quartering them all in one longhouse.
