Scyorielaphas is a character in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.
Background[edit | edit source]
The ancient Scyorielaphas is the actual source of the Watershapers' power. He is one of three guardians of Deadfire from ancient times, made by the gods to defend the archipelago and their secrets. Where the others watched over the adra and lost Ukaizo, he was responsible for protecting the islands of the archipelago.
He has been bound beneath the guild for decades, held down by false promises and the wards created by the Watershapers. Periki exchanged promises with the ancient dragon, who agreed to bind his soul to the very foundations of the guilds' building, letting Watershaper students draw on his power to master the ancient art of Ngati. In return, she vowed to protect the luminous adra deposits of the archipelago against foreigners and exploitation.
But when the covenant was made, Periki cheated him: Scyorielaphas was left in darkness, alone and betrayed, chained for all eternity.
