Scâthden is a character in Pillars of Eternity.
Background[edit | edit source]
Standing proud and still, the aumaua before you is smiling broadly, showing several crooked and missing teeth. Sporting the physique of a man in his prime, his worn and weathered face appears too old for the rest of him. He's dressed in an assortment of stitched hides and furs assembled from a motley of animals. Dangling from his belt are a series of grizzly scalps: braided lengths of human, aedyran, dwarven, and orlan hair woven around finger bones.
Scâthden is one of two souls that were created when an older soul split in two, the other being Hiravias. The two share a distinct, unseen relation, bound for a collision course. Scâthden's gifts led to him joining the Ethik Nôl of Blood Sands, and eventually attaining the titles of Seeker's Justice and Hound's Hunger. He is aware of the origin of his soul and considers whomever was created alongside him to be the lesser creature - and once he meets Hiravias, he's convinced it's literally true.
