Plate armor is a type of armor in Pillars of Eternity. It offers the best possible protection, but slows its bearer significantly.

In-game description[edit | edit source]

The heaviest armor in regular use by adventurers and soldiers, plate armor protects its wearers from all but the most severe blows. It is comprised of three layers: the base padding, a suit of mail, and the top layer of steel plates.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The first easily-obtainable plate armor in Pillars of Eternity is worn by Brad Furis, a backer NPC situated in the back part of the ground floor in The Goose and Fox tavern in Copperlane, Defiance Bay. However, to acquire the armor, player must kill him—although no reputation penalty is issued if no other NPCs see the murder.
  • To tell male and female characters apart plate armor worn by female characters always has flared tassets and plate armor worn by male characters emphasizes pauldrons and belly bulge more.
