Pets are a special type of follower: They can't be attacked and will follow the player character around. Unlike Pillars of Eternity, each pet provides the following:

  • A unique bonus, applied only to the player. In most cases this is not shown under the current effects.
  • A unique bonus, applied to all party members via a passive ability Pet Party Wide Effect given to the player (with exception of Nebula).

Many of the pets in the game were the result of the $500 "Name a Pet" tier, available to backers during the Fig campaign. This allowed eligible backers to name a dog, cat, or pig, picking its color from a list of existing textures.

Additionally, there was a $2,000 "Create a Super Pet" tier, which allowed backers to select any creature in the game (or a custom one), as well as the buffs it would provide. There are four super pets: Animancy Cat, Eviee, Grog, and Xopn'aua.
