A group of adventurers under Dalton that was famous throughout the Reach around 2763 AI, the Rangers made the fatal mistake of pursuing Helig of Thein. After confronting him on a windswept lake near the Lake of Drowned Tombs, all fifty members of the group lay defeated, dead or dying. Dalton was unconscious on the ground, while Rowyna, his lover and second in command, was mortally wounded. In a final insult, the necromancer forced her soul into a locket, taking it as a trophy of sorts and leaving Dalton for dead. While he made a full recovery, he never resumed his adventuring.[1]
