Savannah folk (or Natlan) are a sub-race of humans in Pillars of Eternity and Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.
Origin and prevalence[ | ]
Natlan (NAHT-lahn "origin" or "original"), commonly known as savannah folk, are from the Ixamitl Plains northeast of Dyrwood. They are uncommon in the Dyrwood and Vailian Republics. They are more common in Readceras and very rare in Aedyr. come originally from just south of the Equator and, with the exception of some groups that migrated north, have remained in the same location for over ten thousand years. The name Natlan literally means "original." While quite common in Readceras, savanna folk are not usually seen in the Dyrwood and the Vailian Republics. Though they have migrated north heavily, most of the ethnic group has remained in the same location for well over 10,000 years.[1]
Appearance and culture[ | ]
They are olive skinned and are similar in appearance to real-world Mesoamericans. Their outfits are inspired by the historic cultures of real-world Bulgaria and Ethiopia.[2]
