The monk becomes one with the wind, vanishing, and flashing from enemy to enemy, striking each with a Full Attack. Once the monk has struck the maximum number of enemies, or they cannot reach another, they will reappear.

Perform a forbidden technique that projects a part of the soul in a blast of pure force. Those struck are Interrupted and Enfeebled. The damage of this effect is greatly increased if the monk's soul is cursed.

After each use the monk's soul will be cursed for a short time, increasing the Wound cost and Damage of Forbidden Fist as well as increasing the duration of any existing curses. Each curse afflicting the monk's soul will continually cause damage.

All Helwalkers undergo a ceremonial death rite as part of their initiation. The experience allows them to start combat with extra Wounds and to draw physical strength from their Wounds at the cost of increased vulnerability.

Passive Self:
The Nalpazca are an order of monks who meditate on the differences between the material world and the perceived world through the use of mind-altering substances. Originating in Ixamitl, the nalpazca are respected in their homelands but often disregarded as fools when traveling abroad. Their extensive dabbling with the boundaries of reality can give others the impression that they are addled or simply insane.

Unlike other monastic orders, monks of the Shattered Pillar philosophy gain power from causing pain and harm. While not inherently sadistic, the order does attract many practitioners who delight in the suffering of others.

A monastic order of Gaun, the reaping aspect of Eothas, Sisters of the Reaping Moon are most effective against opponents who are already at death's door.

Monks achieve greater understanding of their bodies' capabilities through enduring the hardships of existence. A monk's fists and feet have a base Damage, Accuracy, and Penetration that is much higher than other characters and increases permanently as they gain Power Level.

2nd Level Monk Passives

Grants a bonus to all defenses against Disengagement Attacks.
Ability passive reflex icon.png Long Stride Passive Self:
Intense practice and years of study enable the monk to move with confident fluidity in battle. During combat, the monk's Stride is significantly increased.
Ability passive accuracy icon.png One-Handed Style Passive Self:
While wielding a single one-handed weapon, some of the attacker's Hits are converted to Crits.
Ability passive attack speed icon.png Two Weapon Style Passive Self:
  • -15% Weapon Recovery Time when dual-wielding
Specialized training increases the character's Action Speed while using a weapon in each hand.

Grants a Damage bonus while wielding a two-handed weapon.

Calls upon the power of the monk's psyche, reflecting half of ranged missiles targeting only the monk back to their point of origin. Only attacks resulting in a Miss have a chance to be reflected back.
4th Level Monk Passives
4 (IV) Ability passive defense icon.png Crucible Of Suffering Passive Self:
The monk gains insight through endurance, gaining a temporary bonus to Fortitude, Reflex, and Will whenever a hostile effect expires.
Ability passive raw damage icon.png Rooting Pain Passive Foe AoE (on gaining Wound):
Occasionally generates a shockwave around the monk each time he or she gains a Wound, inflicting a small amount of damage and Interrupting all enemies in the area.
Ability passive reflex icon.png Tumbling Passive Self:
  • +20 Defense when Disengaging
Gain additional defense against Disengagement attacks.
5th Level Monk Passives
5 (V) Ability passive weapon icon.png Enervating Blows Passive Attack Targets (when scoring a critical hit):
By targeting certain points on an enemy, the monk is able to inflict physical weakness. Melee weapon Critical Hits cause the target to become Weakened.
Ability passive heart icon.png Tough Passive Self:
Increases the base maximum health that you gain with each level.
Ability passive weapon icon.png Uncanny Luck Passive Self:
  • 5% resistance, 5% of Hits converted to Crits
Gain a small chance to completely avoid any attack and to convert some Hits to Critical Hits.
6th Level Monk Passives
6 (VI) Ability passive attack icon.png Improved Critical Passive Self:
Increases the amount of damage dealt by Critical Hits.
Ability passive raw damage icon.png Parting Sorrow Passive Self (when an enemy breaks Engagement):
Enemies that break engagement with the monk give the monk a Wound.
Ability passive deflection icon.png Spell Resistance Passive Self:
  • 10% resistance against Spells
Grants a chance to completely resist the effects of a hostile spell.
7th Level Monk Passives
7 (VII) Ability passive accuracy icon.png Accurate Empower Passive Self:
Empowered attacks gain increased Accuracy.
Ability passive weapon icon.png Heartbeat Drumming Passive Self:
  • 25% Chance on Melee Weapon Critical Hits to attack again instantly
Each time the monk deals a Critical Hit in melee, there is a small chance to trigger an additional attack, instantly.

  • +20% Affliction and Inspiration duration on Empowered attacks
Empowered attacks gain increased duration on Affliction and Inspiration effects.

Empowered attacks gain increased Penetration.

  • +15% Damage with Empowered attacks
Empowered attacks gain increased Damage.
8th Level Monk Passives
8 (VIII) Ability passive heart icon.png Great Soul Passive Self:
  • +1 max Empower points
Increases the maximum number of times Empower can be used before resting.
Resonant touch icon.png Resonance Passive Attack Targets (when scoring a hit with an attack):
The monk's strikes generate a sympathetic resonance between the monk and their target. Successive strikes increase the intensity of the resonance. At a time of the monk's choosing, the monk can trigger each resonance to inflict devastating Raw damage to anyone currently carrying them.
Ability passive accuracy icon.png The Razor's Edge Passive Self:
The monk's Accuracy increases slightly with each Wound they possess.
9th Level Monk Passives
9 (IX) Ability passive penetration icon.png Empowered Strikes Passive Self:
The monk's Empowered attacks ignore all Armor Ratings and gain a massive Accuracy bonus.
Ability passive raw damage icon.png Imagined Pain Passive Self when missed by an attack (when missed by an attack):
Attacks that miss the monk have a chance to provide the monk a Wound.
Ability passive fortitude icon.png Prestige Passive Self:
Increases your Power Level, increasing the effectiveness of all abilities.
