This simple helm is a fixture of the wardens who oversee the Crucible arena. Initiation into their honored ranks involves tracking a rare bird in the deep Kazuwari wilderness and stealing enough feathers to assemble their helm's decorative plume. Some apprentices foolishly attempt to skip this rite by dyeing or purchasing their own feathers, but elders can always spot the difference. The trick is to study the warden. One who returns with pride is turned away as a cheat. One who returns with modesty is known to be truthful. |
