Kern is a villager of Stalwart in The White March - Part II. He can be found near the bar in The Gréf's Rest in Stalwart Village.

This dwarf's face is damp and blotchy. His outburst seems to take something out of him. He sags, his lined features showing his exhaustion.
Kern lived in Stalwart for decades, on land owned by his family for generations. A long-running feud with his neighbor, Haddi, has culminated in a land dispute where Kern believes he unjustly lost half his land: With no Hall of Records, the law of the jungle rules and when somebody sells half your land... You either beat it out of them or have to swallow your pride and get on with your life.
A few days ago, while drunk, he met a Bleak Walker paladin by the name of Cevestin and may have accidentally hired him to kill Haddi. Now the paladin won't rescind the "contract", saying it doesn't happen that way, so Kern is in a bind - and nobody seems willing to lend a hand.
