Background[ | ]
The man sitting here nurses a mug of grog. From the slightly glassy look of his eyes, it's not his first serving. He seems entirely absorbed in a coin that he juggles along the ribbed line of his knuckles.
Caedric is a crewmember of the Untold Fortune, carrying spirits and luxuries out of Telaneir on The Pearl Coast. His ship was ruthlessly attacked just south of Maje Island by the Príncipi dhow Misery's Delight. He was fortunate enough to have narrowly escaped death after he eyed a small silver coin on the deck. A gut feeling caused him to chase the piece, which coincidentally put him out of the range of a fiery explosion which tore apart the ship.
He later washed up on the shores of Vilario's Rest with naught but the clothes on his back and the silver piece tightly in his grasp. Caedric is certain that he would not be alive to tell the tale if not for this coin, and now drinks to forget the friends and crew he lost in a lonely corner of The Kraken's Eye.
