Faith And Conviction is an ability in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.
Description[ | ]
A paladin's Defenses are directly affected by the degree to which he or she acts in accordance with the beliefs of their order. A bonus or penalty is applied to Defense based on how well the paladin's Reputations align with their order's preferred behaviors.

- Faith and Conviction's effects scales with how well the paladin's Disposition aligns with the preferred behaviour of their order, (see Paladin orders). The favoured and opposed dispositions are shown in-game by hovering over the dispositions in the Reputations tab of the Character Sheet.

- The bonus is calculated with
8 + (0.9 * order multiplier). The defenses granted via scaling can be seen by hovering over the value in the inspect window, and is shown as "+5 Bleak Walkers" (for example). Due to inversions on negative modifiers, the final values for bonus Defense granted ranges from 8.2 to 10 after rounding.
