Blackwood Hull is a hull in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.
Description[ | ]
Blackwood trees are exceedingly rare. The corrupted trees are only found among the shadowy groves of the menpŵgra. It is said the enigmatic Rathun Raiders use blackwood in the construction of their terrifying longships. A blackwood hull, coupled with durgan steel reinforcements, is not only exceptionally light but nearly as hard as stone. There is no sturdier timber in the Deadfire.
Acquisition[ | ]
- Can be crafted with 5 Blackwood Logs and 64,000.
Notes[ | ]
- If you choose to go to Ukaizo alone during The Coming Storm, you will need to have both Dragonwing Sails and a Blackwood Hull equipped to your ship before attempting to cross through the storm. Without it, your ship is destroyed in the storm - this results in a unique ending. Other options are availably by making allies with the associated factions.
- The submarine Blade of Takowa, for the Royal Deadfire Company.
- The ghost ship Fonferrus, the "Floating Hangman", for the Príncipi sen Patrena. Although you can also progress the Príncipi questline to the point of obtaining the galleon without actually committing to an alliance.
- The Vailian Trading Company's teleportation machine.
- The power of the Huana watershapers.
- Prior to patch 5.0.0 (The Ultimate), Blackwood Hull could simply be purchased at the Neketaka ship supply vendor for 64,000. This is no longer the case, and it must now be crafted using 5 Blackwood Logs, found strewn throughout various dungeons in the Deadfire.
