The following is a list of barbarian abilities in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.

  • 33% of Base Weapon Damage in Area on Weapon Hit
The barbarian's attacks become so forceful as to impact others around the target enemy. For every successful melee attack, the barbarian makes reduced-damage attacks at all other enemies within a short distance of the target.

Passive Self:
Furyshapers carry a burden of trauma in their past lives, suffering when those emotions inexplicably bleed into their current psyche. These rare individuals can manifest their emotions in a physical form, inflicting their rage, terror, or madness onto the world.
1st Level Barbarian Passives
1 (I) Ability passive utility icon.png Arms Bearer Passive Self:
  • +1 Weapon Sets
Gain an additional Weapon Set.
Ability passive damage icon.png Blooded Passive Self:
  • +25% Damage
Causes the barbarian to lash out when in pain, granting a bonus to damage for as long as he or she is Bloodied or Near Death.
Ability passive reflex icon.png Fast Runner Passive Self:
  • +15% Stride, +5 Defense when Disengaging
The character becomes more fleet and nimble, increasing Stride and granting a defensive bonus against Disengagement Attacks.
Ability passive fortitude icon.png Monastic Unarmed Training Passive Self:
  • +5% Damage with Unarmed attacks, +2 Accuracy with Unarmed attacks, +1 Penetration with Unarmed attacks
Gain scaling effectiveness in Unarmed attacks. Though, not as effective as a Monk's unarmed strikes, benefit from Increased Accuracy, Damage, and Penetration as you gain levels.
2nd Level Barbarian Passives
2 (II) Ability passive accuracy icon.png Accurate Carnage Passive Self:
The barbarian learns to line up their most savage blows, improving the Accuracy of secondary attacks from Carnage.
Ability passive accuracy icon.png One-Handed Style Passive Self:
While wielding a single one-handed weapon, some of the attacker's Hits are converted to Crits.
Ability passive armor rating icon.png Thick Skinned Passive Self:
Toughens the barbarian's naturally thick skin, raising their Armor Rating and allowing a more dominant combat presence.
Ability passive attack speed icon.png Two Weapon Style Passive Self:
  • -15% Weapon Recovery Time when dual-wielding
Specialized training increases the character's Action Speed while using a weapon in each hand.
Ability passive attack icon.png Two-Handed Style Passive Self:
  • +15% Damage with two-handed weapons
Grants a Damage bonus while wielding a two-handed weapon.
Ability passive defense icon.png Weapon and Shield Style Passive Self:
Equipped shields' Deflection bonuses are increased and grant an equal bonus to the character's Reflex.
Ability passive damage icon.png Wilder Hunter Passive Self:
  • +25% damage against Wilder
Grants a damage bonus against all Wilder.
3rd Level Barbarian Passives
3 (III) Ability passive fortitude icon.png Bear's Fortitude Passive Self:
Increases the character's Fortitude defense.
Ability passive attack speed icon.png Bloodlust Passive Self per kill (on kill):
  • +20% Action Speed for 10.0 sec
Imparts an unquenchable bloodlust to the Barbarian, increasing their Action Speed for a short time once he or she has personally downed an enemy.
Ability passive accuracy icon.png Bloody Slaughter Passive Self:
  • 20% of Hits converted to Crits with weapons against ≤ 25% health targets, +50% Crit damage with weapons against ≤ 25% health targets
All attacks made against Near Death enemies convert some Hits to Crits and those Crits do additional damage.
Ability passive will icon.png Bull's Will Passive Self:
Increases the character's Will defense.
Ability passive will icon.png Combat Focus Passive Self:
Gain Concentration at the start of each combat.
Ability passive utility icon.png One Stands Alone Passive Self:
  • +20% Melee Damage, +1 Enemies required to be Flanked
The barbarian makes a courageous stand against all attackers. Grants a melee damage bonus when the barbarian is near two or more enemies and the barbarian requires an additional threatening enemy to become Flanked.

Increases the character's Reflex defense.
4th Level Barbarian Passives
4 (IV) Ability passive reflex icon.png Tumbling Passive Self:
  • +20 Defense when Disengaging
Gain additional defense against Disengagement attacks.
Ability passive fortitude icon.png Unflinching Passive Self:
While Hurt or better the barbarian gains resistance against Body Afflictions.
5th Level Barbarian Passives
5 (V) Ability passive weapon icon.png Interrupting Blows Passive Self:
The Barbarian's melee attacks gain a chance to interrupt on critical hits.
Ability passive heart icon.png Tough Passive Self:
Increases the base maximum health that you gain with each level.
Ability passive weapon icon.png Uncanny Luck Passive Self:
  • 5% resistance, 5% of Hits converted to Crits
Gain a small chance to completely avoid any attack and to convert some Hits to Critical Hits.
6th Level Barbarian Passives

Increases the amount of damage dealt by Critical Hits.
Ability passive deflection icon.png Spell Resistance Passive Self:
  • 10% resistance against Spells
Grants a chance to completely resist the effects of a hostile spell.
Ability passive utility icon.png Threatening Presence Passive Self:
  • Cannot be engaged by lower-level enemies
The barbarian cannot be engaged by enemies that are of a lower level.
7th Level Barbarian Passives
7 (VII) Ability passive accuracy icon.png Accurate Empower Passive Self:
Empowered attacks gain increased Accuracy.
Ability passive attack speed icon.png Blood Thirst Passive Self per kill (on kill):
  • Recover immediately for 10.0 sec
After killing an enemy, the barbarian's recovery bar is immediately refreshed.
Ability passive attack speed icon.png Lasting Empower Passive Self:
  • +20% Affliction and Inspiration duration on Empowered attacks
Empowered attacks gain increased duration on Affliction and Inspiration effects.
Ability passive penetration icon.png Penetrating Empower Passive Self:
Empowered attacks gain increased Penetration.
Ability passive raw damage icon.png Potent Empower Passive Self:
  • +15% Damage with Empowered attacks
Empowered attacks gain increased Damage.
8th Level Barbarian Passives
8 (VIII) Ability passive heart icon.png Great Soul Passive Self:
  • +1 max Empower points
Increases the maximum number of times Empower can be used before resting.
Ability passive attack icon.png Vengeful Defeat Passive AoE (on Unconscious):
  • Full Attack
When a barbarian is reduced to 0 Health and has melee weapons equipped, he or she immediately makes instant Full Attacks at everyone in range. (These attacks trigger Carnage)
9th Level Barbarian Passives
9 (IX) Ability passive raw damage icon.png Barbaric Retaliation Passive Attackers (on Critically Hit):
  • Full Attack
The barbarian lashes out at anyone who Critically Hits them in melee, making a Full Attack against them.
Ability passive utility icon.png Blood Surge Passive Self:
  • 25% Chance to gain +1 Rage on kill
Each time the barbarian kills an enemy, they have a chance to gain Rage.
Ability passive fortitude icon.png Prestige Passive Self:
Increases your Power Level, increasing the effectiveness of all abilities.
